Pandora launches retail "first" at independent department store in Stroud

17 October 2024

Pandora – the world’s largest jewellery brand – has launched its first independent department store collaboration with a “store in store” concept in Sandersons Boutique at Five Valleys in Stroud.

The bespoke branded area was unveiled with a special ribbon cutting at the store on Thursday October 17th – launching in perfect timing for the busy Christmas season.

The Pandora launch marks the start of three days of events and late-night opening at the town centre retail destination which has undergone a phased £30m programme of improvements.

The centre is owned and managed by Sheffield based development company, Dransfield Properties, Chairman Mark Dransfield said attracting a global brand like Pandora marked a huge milestone in the company’s plans for Five Valleys.

He said: “When we first looked at this centre five years ago it would have been hard to believe we could attract the brands that we now have here. We are incredibly proud that Pandora has chosen Sandersons to launch the company’s new concession format, it looks fantastic, and we are confident they will trade really well here in Stroud.

“To be chosen as the location for this exciting new format for Pandora is fantastic – and shows the confidence there is in Five Valleys and in Stroud. We have a unique offering here in the town, with a great independent and national brand line up – as well as our world class street market and food hall which has really grown in popularity in the last two years.”

The new Pandora concession is at the front of the Five Valleys Sandersons store where shoppers can find Pandora’s full jewellery range, from the iconic charm bracelets to earrings, rings, necklaces, and the latest collections and services which are offered in Pandora stores.

The concession is staffed by Pandora’s expert team, who are dedicated to offering customers a personalised shopping experience, while showcasing the diverse range of hand-finished jewellery that has made Pandora the world’s largest jewellery brand.

The company is independent, and family owned and works with brands including Max Mara, Boss and Holland Cooper.  Pandora has also launched a new concession at the company’s Sheffield store.

The department store has built a reputation for its sought-after range of luxury fragrances and for delivering a unique in store experience. In 2019 the business was named Best New Retailer in the Drapers Independent Awards.

Founded in 1982 by Danish goldsmith Per Enevoldsen and his wife Winnie, Pandora has grown from a small jewellery shop in Copenhagen to an internationally recognised brand, present in over 100 countries.

Ross Monaghan, Sales Director at Pandora UK, said: "This marks a proud moment for Pandora as we open our first concession in collaboration with Sandersons. As a premium department store with values closely aligned to our own, this partnership feels like a natural fit.

“We’re excited to see what this collaboration will deliver, allowing us to meet new customers and offer them the full Pandora jewellery experience. Our concession will feature an adapted version of our new Evoke 2.0 concept store, with all the key services customers expect, including MyPandora, click and collect, and endless aisle—where customers can order items not stocked in-store and have them delivered to their home free of charge. We look forward to seeing the positive impact this new offering will have in Stroud.”

A special late night shopping event was also planned to mark the launch, featuring the renowned Ibiza DJ MINA and the Five Valleys street food market staying open until 8pm. Ducklings Toy Shop also launches at the centre on Saturday (October 19th)

As well as a great retail line up and the centre’s world class street food market, Five Valleys is home to a new Medical Centre and the town’s library which has seen footfall rise by more than 50% in its new location. New office space has also been delivered with the award-winning legal team Montpellier Legal the latest company to move to the centre.
