Meet a Minion at Five Valleys to celebrate release of Despicable Me 4 at Vue

8 July 2024

Fans eagerly awaiting the launch of Despicable Me 4 will get the chance to meet a real-life Minion at Five Valleys shopping centre.

This summer, Gru faces a new nemesis in Maxime Le Mal (Emmy winner Will Ferrell) and his femme fatale girlfriend Valentina (Emmy nominee Sofia Vergara), and the family is forced to go on the run.

The fourth instalment of the family adventure film is due to be released at Stroud Vue on Friday, July 12.

And to help celebrate the release of the eagerly-anticipated new film – fans will get the chance to meet and have their picture taken with a Minion.

You will be able to meet the fun character in the main mall of Five Valleys, next to Sports Direct, on Saturday, July 13, from Noon to 2pm.

Kelly Winkworth, Assistant Centre Manager at Five Valleys, said: “We are all excited for the release of the new film and thought the best way to celebrate would be to invite a Minion into the centre!

“So come along and meet this fun character.”

Cinema tickets at Vue start from just £7.99 when you book online.

There are plenty of other fun activities to check out too at Five Valleys.

Why not try your hand at a game of bowling at Stroud Bowl, which has a range of special offers, including a blue light discount for people who work in the emergency services, NHS, social care sector or Armed Forces, plus special packages for families, groups, juniors and seniors.

Check out the ‘Pins & Pints’ deal giving you the chance to play two games of bowling while enjoying a cool, refreshing pint from Bar 300 while you play.

If you are under 18, or just fancy a soft drink instead, players can take advantage of ‘Pins & Pop’ – two games and a fresh fizzy pop – for £19.

In addition, the popular Food Market – which celebrates it’s fourth birthday this month – is open late Thursdays and Fridays so feel free to grab a bite to eat and a drink with friends and family before heading off to the cinema or to the bowling.

2024 has been a busy year so far for Five Valleys, which has seen a string of exciting developments including the opening of Sports Direct, Tesco and Stroud Library.

There are even more exciting events planned throughout the summer.

Five Valleys shopping centre was purchased by Dransfield Properties in 2018 and has so far seen close to £30m of investment improving the main shopping centre malls, creating a high-quality indoor food market and consolidating new medical facilities.

The regeneration project has helped safeguard and create just over 400 jobs.
