Live cocktail making class part of full weekend of entertainment and activities at Five Valleys shopping centre in Stroud

11 December 2023

Visitors to Five Valleys are in for a real treat this weekend as they will get the chance to learn how to craft the perfect cocktail – along with many other fun activities, markets and live entertainment.

A member of staff from the popular Bar 300 at Stroud Bowl will be on hand to show visitors how to make their signature cocktails including Strike It Lucky, Bowled Over and Love At First Strike from noon on Sunday.

Shae Milner, assistant manager and a keen bowler himself, will be taking centre stage to lead the session and take questions from the audience.

Centre manager Jack Simpson said: “This is the latest in our series of live food and drink demonstrations that have been very popular over the last few weeks.

“This week’s has a unique twist in that people will get the chance to discover how to craft the perfect cocktail.

“So come along and learn how to impress your loved ones over the festive period with some extra special and unusual drinks.”

In addition, the popular weekly Friday Night Food Market, which will include late night shopping and the chance to try a range of delicious street food in the indoor market, will return.

The centre will be open until 8.30pm giving visitors the chance to try some of the best food in the Cotswolds, from Indian to Japanese to classic sandwiches.

There will also be music in the air from 6pm onwards as the Jazz Friday Big Band will be taking to the stage for a live performance.

Mulled wine and music will be on for all to enjoy at Rough Hands coffee shop until 8pm and the centre will be hosting its second festive craft market on Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 4pm.

A number of traders will be taking over the outdoor courtyard area, providing shoppers with a perfect opportunity to find an extra special gift for a loved one.

The gifts and treats on offer range from cakes and brownies to skincare, jewellery, bags, accessories, scarves, art prints and wood burned gifts.

Visitors will also get the chance to discover a fantastic range of handmade gifts, art, homewares and much more all created by talented local artists and designers at the Stroud Artist and Makers Emporium.

This will be another opportunity to find some unique Christmas gifts, while also supporting local makers.

The pop up is located next to The Tanning Room and is  organised by local artist Darren Rumley.

Shoppers will also be able to take advantage of free parking, which is running on Sundays leading up to the New Year, and it also serves as a chance to browse many of the centre’s stores which are already stocking some fabulous ranges for Christmas.
