12 August 2024
A great day
out for all is being promised at the Five Valleys summer fete.
There will
be a variety of family-oriented fun at the free-to-attend event, held at the
popular Stroud-based shopping centre on Friday, August 23, between 11am and
3pm.
There will
be Punch and Judy shows throughout the day, free face painting, free balloon
modelling, traditional side stall games, candyfloss and sweets, plus a tombola
with some incredible prizes to be won kindly donated by businesses based in
Five Valleys.
Visitors
will also be able to indulge in our fantastic assortment of street food available
at the Five Valleys Market, which includes flavours that are sure to tickle
your tastebuds from around the world.
Kelly
Winkworth, Assistant Centre Manager, said: “This promises to be a fantastic day
out so I would encourage as many people as possible to come along and have some
fun.”
And the fun
will continue into the evening as many of the food vendors including Indian
street food vendor Namaste and meaty grill specialists The BBQ Society will be
staying open until about 8pm for the popular Friday Night Food Market. There
will also be live music.
After the
food market closes, there are plenty of other reasons to stick around and have
fun at Five Valleys.
You could
continue your night with a game of bowling at Stroud Bowl, which has a range of
special offers, including a blue light discount for people who work in the
emergency services, NHS, social care sector or armed forces, plus special
packages for families, groups, juniors and seniors.
Check out
the ‘Pins & Pints’ deal giving you the chance to play two games of bowling
while enjoying a cool, refreshing pint from Bar 300 while you play.
If you are
under 18, or just fancy a soft drink instead, players can take advantage of
‘Pins & Pop’ – two games and a fresh fizzy pop – for £19.
If movies
are your thing, then check out the latest blockbuster film releases at Vue,
with cinema tickets starting from just £7.99 when you book online.
You could
also check out our fantastic range of shops, including Sandersons, which is home
to a fantastic range of national and independent brands including Holland
Cooper, Barbour, Barbour International, Jacob Cohan and Hackett.
In addition,
talented pastry chef Josh Ambridge has recently expanded and opened a new
venture at the shopping centre.
Josh owns
and runs the popular Choux Bun Appetit café and has now launched a second
business called Bun Macaron, which focuses on his delicious and traditional
