Five Valleys to provide free parking on Sundays leading up to Christmas

23 October 2023

Five Valleys shopping centre is launching free parking this Sunday [29 October] to support Christmas shopping and encourage people to eat out and buy locally.

The shopping centre, which is home to over 30 independent businesses and is undergoing an extensive £30m refurbishment programme, is open seven days a week. To further boost Sunday trade, free parking will run right up to the end of the year including Sunday 31 December.

Centre Manager at Five Valleys, Jack Simpson, said: “Footfall to the centre has really exploded on Saturdays with peak numbers reaching over 11,000 people.

“The centre’s indoor food market and many of the stores, including Sandersons Boutique department store, are also open on Sundays from 10am until 4pm. Shoppers have the chance to also visit us on that day to enjoy a slower pace, plenty of things to do with family or friends whilst benefiting from free parking.”

The centre boasts one of the best bowling facilities in the UK and is running a special offer on Sundays to coincide with the free parking. On Sunday a family of four can bowl from just £25.

VUE are also releasing films every week with the new Trolls movie and Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon out this Friday.

Families with a VUE ticket are able to get a kids 9” pizza plus milkshake for just £7.50 or enjoy 25% off all food at lunch times at Fat Toni’s Pizzeria. Alternatively, foodies can eat their way around the globe at the indoor market’s range of twelve street food stands cooking up Italian, Thai, Indian, Mexican and Japanese sushi to name a few.

The centre will also be turning spooky for the launch weekend and in preparation for Halloween, offering youngsters the chance to get their face painted or join in a free pumpkin hunt around the centre with a chance of winning a family voucher to be used at Stroud Bowl.

Five Valleys have several pop-up shops, creative workshops and more street food traders opening throughout the festive season, so the team are urging people to keep an eye on the website’s what’s on page to keep up to date with what’s happening.

Jack continued: “It’s an ideal time to visit us, with the stores all stocked with Christmas gifts and some great offers running too."
