Five Valleys set to be buzzing on Thursday evenings with launch of late night market

3 June 2024

Five Valleys shopping centre is set to be buzzing on Thursday nights as a new late evening food market is set to launch.

A number of food traders will be staying open late on Thursday evening an extra two hours up until 7pm – giving visitors more time to enjoy the popular markets vast array of international cuisine.

The event is due to launch on Thursday, June 6, with your favourite traders including Indian street food vendor Namaste, meaty grill specialists The BBQ Society and Sofia’s Chinese Kitchen among others all opening their stalls later for visitors.

This follows the success of the Friday Night Market, which attracts hundreds of visitors every week to enjoy the late night food market and live music until 8pm.

Erica Malpass, Centre Manager at Five Valleys, said: “Our Friday Night Market has been such a success and it has been really heartening to see people gather every week to have a bite to eat and a bit of a natter with friends and family.

“We are trying to create a real community hub here at Five Valleys and we have decided to extend the late market opening to Thursday so people have even more chance to experience the fantastic range of food stalls we have here in Stroud.”

She added: “The Thursday Night Market will fit in perfectly if you’ve just finished work or popping into town to grab something to take home, or to sit in and enjoy a bite to eat before heading off to bowling or to catch a film.

“We’re so excited to be launching our second weekly late evening market so come and join us!”

After the food market closes, there are plenty of other reasons to stick around and have fun at Five Valleys.

You could continue your night with a game of bowling at Stroud Bowl, which has a range of special offers, including a blue light discount for people who work in the emergency services, NHS, social care sector or armed forces, plus special packages for families, groups, juniors and seniors.

Check out the ‘Pins & Pints’ deal giving you the chance to play two games of bowling while enjoying a cool, refreshing pint from Bar 300 while you play.

If you are under 18, or just fancy a soft drink instead, players can take advantage of ‘Pins & Pop’ – two games and a fresh fizzy pop – for £19.

If movies are your thing, then check out the latest blockbuster film releases at Vue, with cinema tickets starting from just £7.99 when you book online.

The launch of the Thursday Night Market is the latest in a string of exciting developments announced so far this year at Five Valleys, which has so far seen Sports Direct, Tesco and Stroud Library all open at the shopping centre.

Five Valleys shopping centre was purchased by Dransfield Properties in 2018 and has so far seen close to £30m of investment improving the main shopping centre malls, creating a high-quality indoor food market and consolidating new medical facilities.

The regeneration project has helped safeguard and create just over 400 jobs.
