Two
brothers inspired by Michelin-starred chefs Gordon Ramsay
and Marco Pierre White
are set to wow the crowds with a live cookery demonstration of their delicious
Italian cuisine this weekend.
Darren and Jason Orsi, of Fat Toni’s Pizzeria, who believe in ‘good quality pizza but for a low cost’ will take centre stage for the latest in a series of live cookery demonstrations at Five Valleys Shopping Centre in Stroud.
The duo will be serving up their famous New York-style sourdough pizzas from the demo kitchen, which can be found in a dedicated space next door to The Artisan Baker, on Sunday from noon.
This will be the second in a series of live cookery demonstrations throughout November and December in the lead up to Christmas. The event follows on from an appearance by Jack Knight last Sunday, who wowed the crowds with his seared scallops and pork medallions wrapped in bacon.
Darren Orsi, co-owner of Fat Toni’s Pizzeria, said: “We believe in good quality pizza for a low cost, all produced fresh from the oven using only the best ingredients and our signature dough and sauce recipes.
“We also specialise in big pizzas that can be shared between large groups as the dining experience in Italy is all about big families getting together to share their love of good food.”
The brothers have built the business up over the past three years at Five Valleys, becoming well known for their 20-inch pizzas and their signature recipes using a sourdough base giving them the chewy characteristics customers love.
And foodie fans are in good hands as Jason trained under Michelin-starred chefs Gordon Ramsay and Marco Pierre White, while Darren has made frequent visits to Lucca, a province of the wine rich region of North Tuscany, to gain inspiration for their recipes.
Fat Toni’s also cater for all including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options on the menu.
Centre Manager at Five Valleys, Jack Simpson, said: “This will be the second of our live cookery demonstrations, following on from the fantastic success of our launch event last Sunday, and this will be a real treat for pizza fans.
The event is also a chance to pick up some culinary inspiration to take home and use in the kitchen. We’re inviting everyone to come on down and enjoy this fantastic demonstration of authentic Italian cooking.
“The events, which will be held on most Sundays leading up to Christmas, will provide the perfect opportunity for our wonderful artisan producers to showcase their products and share their knowledge."
Foodies can also expect to find a rich tapestry of gourmet street food from around the globe at the market, with future demonstrations featuring the talented chefs who will be letting visitors into the secrets of how to recreate their dishes at home.
Future cookery demonstrations will be delivered by Thai2Go with Armadeli guiding people on how to put together the perfect cheeseboard.
Shoppers will also be able to take advantage of free parking, which is running on Sundays leading up to the New Year, and it also serves as a chance to browse many of the centre’s stores which are already stocking some fabulous ranges for Christmas.
The centre boasts one of the best bowling facilities in the UK which is also running a special offer on Sundays to coincide with the free parking. On Sunday a family of four can bowl from just £25 at Stroud Bowl.
