A fab four years celebrated at Five Valleys Market

9 July 2024

Stroud’s Five Valleys Market celebrated four years of fabulous food at the weekend.

Shoppers were treated to entertainment and activities to mark the fourth anniversary of the town centre market which is home to a great line up of street food traders as well as local and specialist foods.

On Friday evening the performer Sharon Baker entertained customers with a mixture of classic and modern hits – including happy birthday of course! And young visitors were treated to free face painting and balloon modelling on Saturday.

The Five Valleys Market is open seven days a week offering a wide array of food options for shoppers, from Thai food to sushi and barbecue as well as Italian and Mexican specialities.

The market launched in July 2020 and has grown into a great regional foodie destination over the last four years. Thai2Go and Non Solo Pasta were among the first traders to join the market line up and both will be celebrating their fourth birthdays later this month.

The popular market is also home to traders including the award-winning Artisan Baker as well as gourmet delicatessen Armadeli, Knights artisan butchers and seafood and fresh fruit and vegetables from the Cotswold Grocer.

A great line up of street food traders can also be found, offering everything from gelato to fish and chips, crepes, Italian and Mexican street food as well as Chinese, Japanese and Thai food.

Assistant Centre Manager Kelly Winkworth said: “There has been a great response to our Five Valleys market since it opened four years ago – we have some fantastic businesses here bringing us delicious food from around the world, as well as some really high-quality local produce.

“We’re really proud of all the traders who help to make it such a special place and it was great to mark the fourth birthday at the weekend.”

Five Valleys is owned and managed by the leading town centre regeneration company Dransfield Properties. The company has transformed the centre into a brand-new retail and leisure destination in the heart of Stroud town centre.

Five Valleys has recently welcomed Sports Direct to the retail line up at the centre as well as fashion store Peacocks, both can be found in the mall area near the market.
